Humbled……..12-27-2010

Wednesday December 22, 2010 was my last full day of work for CoxHealth.  The last 3 drawers have been emptied in my office desk, a few files left to sort through for Dorothy.  I will assist the Adm. Team a few hours over the next few months to help with some projects I have been working on, but otherwise the time as a full time employee has come to an end.  The choice of last Wednesday to be the last full day for working was for no particular reason, it just seemed like it would work with the Christmas holidays.  It was nice to have extra time off as the kids and grandkids who were all here for 6 days.  That was fun but crazy with 3 ages 3 and under.  Having so much activity at the house kept me from thinking too much about the significance of the day.  There were a number of nice send offs planned for me that gave some time for reminiscing and speculating on the future with folks I have enjoyed working with all of these years.

One never knows who is watching you or what impact you are having on others especially when you are in a position that is very visible.  The messages I have received have amazed and humbled me; to think folks would take the time to wish me well or say how I had impacted them is so very thoughtful.  When I finally got a chance to read all of my cards and notes there were so many kind words and special gifts given to me, wow I have been blessed!  What a great collection of experiences and friendships.
