Just returned from a 6 mile walk after work. I was so energized as today I got on the Climb Kili website and got to take a look at my fellow climbers. WOW what a group! I want to write my bio tonight to post on my page to tell why I am climbing. I spent most of the walk tonight thinking why am I walking?…….. there are really lots of reasons how can I put it into 3 paragraphs? What kept coming to mind was give a cup of water in my name. I want to live the gospel. The climb is going to be a challenge and off and on I think “can I really do this?” Answer no not on my own. The thought of women and children walking every day 6 or more miles to get the life giving water is so humbling – I have had a life of ease and much fortune. How can I do some thing of significance — this is it…..water. I want to be apart of a freedom story that will happen when a village has a well with fresh water. Oh Lord I pray I can inspire others to join this cause to change someone’s world for earthly and heavenly results.
Got a great insight from a gentleman last week on a visit to Heartland HealthSystem in St. Joseph, MO. He had been the CEO of this organization for 26 or so years and retired about a year ago. He is still giving time to many of the causes he helped to be a part of developing there. I ask him how it had gone to move out of the drivers seat? He said it had taken him 6-8 months to get it out of his daily system, but he was very happy with what he was doing. Then he said I like to think of this as my Encore. I love that — actually so much that I am going to use that to describe my next moves as I Leap Fearlessly > into my Encore?
